Download #1: "Fire Truck Man"

The NJ Fire Museum now operates one of the museum-owned vintage fire apparatus to support games and competitions at fire engine musters in New Jersey.  The rig that currently supports these activities is a classic 1960 Mack C model pumper that originally served Somerville NJ.
If you are not an apparatus "buff" you should know that this was the only fire engine design built by Mack Trucks that was not a "by-product" of one of their over-the-road truck designs. Further, Mack Trucks bought this design (back in the mid-1950s) from an even more famous company that was going out of business at the time, the Ahrens Fox Fire Engine Company of Cincinatti Ohio.  So the blood line for this fire engine runs deep.  Thanks to Mr Richmond Shreve of Cape May Point, this apparatus was greatly cared for and generously donated to the fire museum. It will be our honor to maintain and operate this beautiful rig for a while and in due course retire her to permanent display as a lasting tribute to fire-fighters, the men who built such rugged machines and the citizens who had the foresight to preserve such rigs for our appreciation."
